Stalin announces pension, family pension hike for journalists
M.K. Stalin, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, increased journalist pension from ₹12,000 to ₹15,000 and family pension from ₹6,000 to ₹7,500. The increase was ordered after representatives of the Chennai Press Club presented a charter of demands including housing and medical insurance benefits. Stalin also directed officials to provide medical insurance under the Chief Minister’s Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme for all accredited journalists and to allot house plots in Chengalpattu district through the Tamil Nadu Housing Board.
