Owaisi questions BJP’s foreign policy and minority rights amid rising tensions in West Asia

Asaduddin Owaisi, president of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen, criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi's foreign policy during a public meeting, questioning why India had not condemned the recent attack on Iran and engaged with leaders such as Benjamin Netanyahu and Donald Trump. Owaisi argued that India should have publicly opposed the attack due to its potential impact on fuel prices and highlighted instances of alleged discrimination against minorities in various parts of the country. He also criticized remarks attributed to a police officer in Sambhal, who questioned Muslims protesting against the attack, stating that citizens have the right to protest under Article 19 of the Constitution. Owaisi further expressed concern over attempts to impose Hindu law through the Uniform Civil Code and emphasized the importance of respecting religious freedom and personal laws within a pluralistic society.
