CPI(M) turns the page on party veteran G. Sudhakaran
The Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)] State Secretariat has declared that veteran G. Sudhakaran is no longer a member of the party, following his announcement to run as an Independent in the Ambalapuzha constituency. Mr. Govindan, the CPI(M) State secretary, stated that Mr. Sudhakaran's actions are "superfluous" and he has severed ties with the party. The CPI(M) will continue to contest the seat, which is considered a stronghold for the Left Democratic Front (LDF). The party has called for a public protest meeting in response to Mr. Sudhakaran’s independent candidacy.
