No shortage of fuel in country, says government

Union Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri assured the Lok Sabha that India has sufficient fuel supplies despite global energy disruptions caused by the conflict in West Asia. He stated that commercial LPG supply is being regulated to prevent hoarding and diversion, with 20% of average monthly requirements allocated by oil-marketing companies in coordination with state governments. Puri also highlighted that India's crude supply position is secure, diversifying its sources beyond Gulf countries to include the U.S., Norway, Canada, Algeria, and Russia. He emphasized that domestic piped gas, compressed natural gas for vehicles, and industrial consumers will continue to receive full or partial supplies while agricultural needs are being prioritized.
