Kashmir banks on almond and tulip blooms to revive tourism hit after Pahalgam terror attack

The Jammu and Kashmir government is attempting to revive tourism in the region by focusing on its blooming gardens. Omar Abdullah, the Chief Minister, will inaugurate a spring festival at Badamwari, an almond garden that offers mesmerizing pink and white flowers. The government plans to extend the bloom period through a lavender patch and introduce new plants to enhance the garden's beauty. Mathoora Masoom, Director of Floriculture, Kashmir, stated that the goal is to transform Badamwari into an all-season garden, attracting tourists with its floral displays. The government also plans to open the Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden in Srinagar, offering a rare tulip bloom experience.
