CPI expels Nattika MLA Mukundan for ‘anti-party activities’
The Communist Party of India (CPI) expelled C.C. Mukundan, an MLA from Nattika, for violating party discipline and making public allegations against the party after it chose a candidate for the upcoming Assembly election. The CPI stated that Mr. Mukundan's actions were in violation of party rules and he was removed as a member due to his decision to contest the election independently with support from the United Democratic Front (UDF). The CPI has decided to field former MLA Geetha Gopi as its candidate instead.
