Once released, climate activist Sonam Wangchuk will not protest: wife
Sonam Wangchuk, a climate activist, will not pursue agitation after his release from detention under the National Security Act (NSA). Instead, he plans to continue advocating for constitutional safeguards for Ladakh through dialogue and collaboration with Gitanjali J. Angmo, his wife and co-founder of the Himalayan Institute of Alternative Learning (HIAL). Angmo stated that Wangchuk has no political ambitions and joined the high-powered committee led by Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai on the insistence of local leaders, after failed talks with the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). The Leh Apex Body (LAB) and the Kargil Democratic Alliance (KDA), representing Ladakh's districts, are also part of the committee.
