Kerala Chief Minister dedicates State’s longest backwater bridge

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan inaugurated the Perumbalam bridge in Alappuzha district, ending generations of wait for a direct road link to the mainland. The longest bridge in the southern state built over a backwater stretch, the Perumbalam bridge, connects Perumbalam Island with Arookutty panchayat. Mr. Vijayan stated that this project is a symbol of his government's commitment to development and ensuring no place in the state is left untouched. The ₹100-crore project, completed with financial assistance from the Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board (KIIFB), will significantly contribute to the region's socio-economic development.
