
Karnataka Budget 2026: 182 tanks in Chikkaballapur district to be filled under Hebbala-Nagawara Valley project
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced during the Karnataka Budget presentation that the third phase of the Hebbala-Nagawara Valley project will fill 164 tanks, costing ₹237 crore. The project will also include a lift irrigation scheme to fill 59 tanks using treated sewage water from the H.N. Valley project at a cost of ₹140 crore. The second phase of the Vrishabhavathi Valley project aims to fill 119 tanks with treated sewage water from Bengaluru city, costing ₹650 crore. The government has approved 112 projects across Karnataka for sustainable tank management and protection.
