New Intermediate Ring Road connecting Tumakuru and Mysuru Roads, pedestrian push in Budget for Bengaluru
Siddaramaiah, the Chief Minister of Bengaluru, presented a ₹7,000 crore budget for the 2026-27 fiscal year. The majority of funds, ₹4,000 crore, will be allocated to B-SMILE for infrastructure projects like tunnel roads and the new Intermediate Ring Road (IRR). The remaining ₹3,000 crore will be distributed among five new city corporations and other organizations such as the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) and Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB). The budget also includes plans for a 9-km pedestrian pathway on the Outer Ring Road (ORR), sponsored by the Outer Ring Road Companies’ Association (ORRCA), and the revival of the IRR project.
