Karnatraka Budget: PM-MITRA textile park in Kalaburagi gets ₹75-crore allocation
The Karnataka government approved ₹390 crore for developing infrastructure at the proposed Pradhan Mantri Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PM-MITRA) Mega Textile Park in Kalaburagi district. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced this allocation during the State Budget, with ₹75 crore earmarked for the 2026-27 financial year. The KKCCI, a trade and industries body in the region, had urged for substantial infrastructure development funding to attract textile units and ancillary industries. Business leaders expressed concerns that the allocated amount is insufficient and could delay project implementation. The budget also announced the establishment of a silk park in Kalaburagi as part of efforts to promote sericulture and silk-based industries in the state.
