Chidambaram, and Kanimozhi, facilitated the deal. The agreement is crucial for the DMK-led Secular Progressive Alliance (SPA) to finalize seat-sharing with other constituents, as the Congress is the coalition's second-largest member. The SPA will now focus on negotiating with smaller parties.
