Israel Iran War: Rockets, missiles and drones fly across Iran and Israel; Middle East remains tense — how the war is unfolding

Israel launched pre-dawn strikes on Lebanon as the conflict between the US, Israel, and Iran escalated. The escalation followed a US submarine sinking an Iranian warship in the Indian Ocean and the US Senate's rejection of a War Powers resolution aimed at limiting President Donald Trump's military action against Iran. Iran responded with missile attacks on Israel, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Turkey. The conflict has resulted in over 1,000 deaths in Iran, more than 70 in Lebanon, and around a dozen in Israel. The US and Israel have targeted Iran's leadership, missile arsenal, and nuclear program. China will send a special envoy to mediate the escalating conflict.
