Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge, former Union Minister P. Chidambaram, DMK Parliamentary Party leader Kanimozhi, and Congress MP Karti P. Chidambaram played a crucial role in resolving the seat-sharing negotiations between the DMK and Congress. After reaching a stalemate, Chidambaram negotiated independently with Stalin, who ultimately agreed to increase the number of seats allotted to the DMK from 26 to 27. The agreement was reached after Kharge personally spoke to Stalin on Wednesday morning.
