BJP claims Bihar will have a Backward Class CM from the party
Nitish Kumar, leader of the Janata Dal(U), is reportedly considering resigning as Chief Minister of Bihar and joining the Rajya Sabha. BJP sources suggest that his successor would be from the Backward Class or Extremely Backward Class. Top BJP leaders, including Amit Shah, are expected to visit Patna on Thursday for a possible "regime change." The NDA's Rajya Sabha candidates, including Nitin Nabin, will also file their nominations on this day. The ruling NDA won 202 seats in the recent Assembly elections, with the JD(U) securing 85 and the BJP bagging 89.
