P.K. Sasi to quit CPI(M), to contest in Ottapalam as Independent

P.K. Sasi, a former CPI(M) MLA, is set to leave the party and contest the Ottapalam Assembly seat as an independent candidate backed by the United Democratic Front (UDF). Sasi's decision follows his unsuccessful attempt to meet Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan who declined to meet him. The event at Parvathy Kalyana Mandapam, Chandranagar, is expected to attract a significant number of party rebels and could impact the CPI(M)'s electoral prospects in the district.
