UDF allies voice disquiet over prolonged seat-sharing delays

Congress allies in the United Democratic Front (UDF), including the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) and the Kerala Congress (KC), are expressing concern over the delay in seat-sharing and seat-swapping arrangements for the upcoming Assembly elections. These parties fear that the lack of a cohesive strategy is allowing the CPI(M)-led Left Democratic Front (LDF) to gain an advantage. While some discussions have taken place between the Congress and certain allies, including the IUML, formal negotiations with other partners have yet to begin. The IUML is prioritizing winnability through strategic seat swaps with the Congress, while the Kerala Congress (KC) has criticized the lack of formal engagement from the Congress. Despite these concerns, the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee president Sunny Joseph maintains that seat-sharing talks are progressing steadily.
