DMK sets March 3 deadline for Congress on seat-sharing talks
The DMK leadership is preparing to announce its candidates for the Rajya Sabha elections on March 16, despite a lack of progress in seat-sharing negotiations with the Congress. The DMK, which has offered 25 Assembly seats, is unwilling to concede more than that. The Congress, however, insists on upwards of 35 seats and two Rajya Sabha seats. Despite this impasse, the DMK maintains it is prepared for any outcome, having already secured a strong alliance with its allies.
