Karnataka government skirts internal reservation in recruitments

The Karnataka government has initiated a recruitment drive for 56,432 posts with a quota of 101 Scheduled Castes at 15%, but without internal reservation. This decision has angered Dalit Left communities who had hoped for the inclusion of internal reservation, as promised by two cabinet ministers. The move comes despite new legislation increasing SC and ST reservations to 17% and 7% respectively, and a court order restraining the government from implementing the recruitment process without internal reservation. The Committee for Internal Reservation for Social Justice has threatened protests if their demands are not met.
