PM Modi inaugurates Micron ATMP plant in Gujarat’s Sanand

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Micron Technology Inc.'s new ATMP facility in Sanand, Gujarat on Saturday. The facility, which received 50% capital support from the India Semiconductor Mission and 20% from the Gujarat government, will package data storage chips for use in AI applications, mobile devices, and advanced computing systems. Micron expects to package tens of millions of chips this year and hundreds of millions next year as demand for these chips grows due to the increasing popularity of AI. The facility is designed to meet LEED Gold standards and uses advanced water-saving technologies to achieve zero liquid discharge.
