Stand-off between Delhi and H.P. police forces triggers political row in hill State
A stand-off between Delhi and Himachal Pradesh police teams ended Thursday morning with the Delhi team being cleared to return to Delhi. The standoff stemmed from the arrest of three Indian Youth Congress (IYC) activists in Shimla on Wednesday for their protest at the India AI Impact Summit last week, which sparked political controversy in the state. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu called the action an attempt to undermine Himachal Pradesh's sovereignty while BJP leaders, including Leader of the Opposition Jai Ram Thakur, demanded a probe into the incident by the Centre and an investigation into the Chief Minister’s Office.
