Govt. focusing on intra-linking of rivers as immediate priority, says Chandrababu Naidu
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu emphasized the importance of water security for Andhra Pradesh's development, highlighting the government's focus on intra-linking rivers and the Polavaram-Nallamala Sagar project. He stressed the need for amicable river water sharing agreements, particularly in light of Telangana's opposition to the Polavaram project. Naidu also pointed out that Andhra Pradesh intended to utilize only flood waters from the Godavari River for the project and recalled the progress made on interlinking rivers by a Task Force under Suresh Prabhu. He asserted completion of the Polavaram project before 2027 and attributed credit for supplying Krishna river water to Chennai through the Telugu Ganga project to former Chief Minister N.T. Rama Rao.
