Protests galore in the wake of injury to Health Minister Veena George amid KSU protest in Kannur

Following injuries sustained during a scuffle at Kannur railway station, Health Minister Veena George was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of the Kannur District Hospital. The incident sparked protests by the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and its affiliates across the state, with accusations leveled against the Leader of the Opposition V.D. Satheesan and the United Democratic Front (UDF) for orchestrating the attack. The police arrested five KSU workers in connection with the incident, who have been charged with attempted murder. The Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan condemned the incident as a "heinous attack" on a public official while Mr. Satheesan denied any wrongdoing by his party members and insisted that no physical assault occurred.
