Congressman Al Green was removed from the House of Representatives chamber for a second consecutive year during President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address, holding up a sign that read “Black people aren’t apes!” as he was escorted out. Other Democrats, including Representative Troy Nehls, Senator Markwayne Mullin, and Representative Rashida Tlaib, also protested against the president's remarks by sitting silently or leaving early. Senator Mark Warner called Trump's speech "lies" and left before it ended.
