NDA to finalise Assam seat-sharing by mid-March: CM Himanta Biswa Sarma

Himanta Biswa Sarma, Chief Minister of Assam, stated that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will finalize its seat-sharing arrangement for the upcoming Assembly elections by mid-March. Discussions with alliance partners, including the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) and the United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL), are progressing well. The BJP is expected to allot fewer than 22 seats to the AGP in the forthcoming polls, potentially by April. The UPPL's future alliance remains uncertain, while the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) has requested Congress support for its president, Badruddin Ajmal, in the upcoming Rajya Sabha election.
