Cabinet approves three railway projects worth ₹9,072 cr covering eight districts in four States

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approved three railway projects totaling ₹9,072 crore. The projects include doubling the Gondia-Jabalpur section and laying third and fourth lines between Punarakh-Kiul and Gamharia-Chandil sections. These projects will increase the Indian Railways network by 307 km, connecting approximately 5,407 villages and enhancing mobility for over 98 lakh people. The projects are part of the PM-Gati Shakti National Master Plan and aim to improve rail connectivity to tourist destinations across the country while boosting freight traffic and reducing logistics costs.
