AIADMK promises ₹1,000 to ration cardholders during Pongal in third round of poll guarantees

AIADMK, the principal opposition party in Tamil Nadu, announced its third round of election promises on February 24, 2026. The party pledged to provide ₹1,000 to ration cardholders as part of a Pongal gift hamper and ₹10,000 solatium for families affected by inflation and tax hikes during the current DMK regime. AIADMK also proposed an unemployment dole of ₹2,000 per month for graduates and ₹1,000 for those with higher secondary qualifications, as well as increased financial support for fishing families and handloom weavers.
