Sabarimala Gold theft case: Congress seeks to implicate CMO in ‘wrongful arrest’ of Tantri Rajeevaru

Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala accused the Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s office of scapegoating Sabarimala Tantri Kandararu Rajeevaru in the gold theft case. He argued that the court's recent bail order for the Tantri indicates the CMO had political pressure to deflect attention from those involved in the crime, and that the high court-appointed SIT was under its control. However, Law Minister Rajeeve countered that it is a legal matter for experts to decide whether a trial court can comment on the merits of the case.
