IMF team due on Feb 26th for review, budget talks - Pakistan
IMF officials will visit Pakistan on February 26th to review the implementation of its $7 billion Extended Fund Facility and $1.1 billion Resilience and Sustainability Facility programs, which are due for completion by March 11th. The mission will discuss budget proposals based on performance this year and set broad contours for the upcoming fiscal year 2026-27, particularly those relating to provincial finances. Pakistan has met most quantitative performance criteria but is lagging behind in indicative targets and structural benchmarks, which could impact future program implementation. The review will determine eligibility for disbursement of about $1 billion under the EFF and another $200 million under the RSF by the end of April.
