IMF team due on 26th for review, budget talks

An IMF mission led by Iva Petrova will visit Pakistan from February 26th to March 11th to review the implementation of its $7 billion Extended Fund Facility and $1.1 billion Resilience and Sustainability Facility programs. The mission will discuss budget proposals based on performance this year, set broad contours for the upcoming fiscal year (2026-27), and address concerns about the power sector and revenue shortfall. Pakistan is expected to meet most quantitative performance criteria but faces challenges in meeting indicative targets and structural benchmarks, which could affect future program implementation.
