CPI’s M. Ganesh elected as Kothagudem Mayor
CPI’s M. Ganesh and Congress’s S. Lalitha Kumari were unanimously elected as the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of the Kothagudem Municipal Corporation (KMC) respectively, following a power-sharing agreement between the parties after a hung council. The CPI will hold the mayor's post for the first two-and-a-half years, while the Congress will assume the position in the remaining period of the five-year term. The CPI and Congress won 22 and 22 divisions respectively in the closely contested election for the 60-member KMC.
