
BRS offered support to CPI in KMC only to protect Singareni workers’ interests: KTR
K.T. Rama Rao, working president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), stated that his party offered unconditional support to the Communist Party of India (CPI) for the Kothagudem Municipal Corporation Mayor election in order to prevent the Congress from exploiting the Singareni Collieries Company Ltd. He claimed the Congress was using the SCCL for political gain and that the BRS had a responsibility to oppose such actions. The BRS working president also expressed concern about the Congress's plans to manipulate local bodies by coercing and threatening opposition party members.
