A.P.’s public debt to reach ₹7.11 lakh crore in 2026–27; GSDP ratio steady at 36%

Andhra Pradesh's public debt is projected to reach ₹7,11,094 crore by 2026-27, a significant increase from the previous fiscal year. Despite this growth, the debt-to-GSDP ratio is expected to remain stable at 36 percent. The Chief Accountant General (CAG) and Director of Expenditure Statistics (DES) have provided these projections. Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav has highlighted efforts to address concerns over high interest rates incurred during the previous regime, including debt restructuring measures.
