School Education gets highest allocations of ₹32,308 crore in A.P. Budget

The Andhra Pradesh government allocated the highest budget of ₹32,308 crore to the School Education Department for the 2026-27 fiscal year. This includes ₹1,500 crore for school infrastructure upgrades. The allocation aims to address concerns about public education's performance under the previous YSRCP government, which was accused of hasty reforms and poor planning. Nara Lokesh, the HRD Minister, has focused on outcome-based initiatives to improve student competitiveness in a global context. The government plans to complete ongoing infrastructure projects, upgrade tribal schools, introduce AI-driven learning tools, and implement a new curriculum aligned with the National Education Policy 2020.
