CPI proves mettle in maiden election to Kothagudem municipal corporation, wins 22 of 60 divisions
The CPI secured 22 of the 60 divisions in the Kothagudem Municipal Corporation (KMC), resulting in a hung council. The ruling Congress also won 22 divisions, while the BRS gained eight, and the CPI(M) and BJP each secured one division. Independent candidates took six. The election was fiercely contested with all major parties campaigning heavily.
