
GSDP growth of State has outpaced national average, says planning official
India has entered a strong economic recovery, with its GDP growth reaching 7.4% in 2025–26. Piyush Kumar, Principal Secretary of the State Planning Department, presented findings at a meeting chaired by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. The report highlights robust investment, controlled inflation, and banking-sector stability as key drivers for India's medium-term growth potential, which is estimated around 7%. Andhra Pradesh also experienced strong economic performance with a GSDP growth of 10.75% and per capita income increase of 10.43%. However, the state faces fiscal challenges, including revenue deficit and debt concerns.
