Support of public needed to combat cancer, says CM

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan emphasized the importance of public cooperation in combating cancer, highlighting early detection as a key factor in reducing treatment costs and improving patient quality of life. He urged people to prioritize healthy lifestyles to prevent diseases like cancer, noting that lifestyle choices play a major role in many cases. The new Cochin Cancer Research Centre (CCRC) complex at Kalamassery Medical College Hospital, costing ₹449 crore and funded by the Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board (KIIFB), is equipped with advanced facilities and will provide 387 beds for patients. The center's focus on research distinguishes it from other cancer centers.
