Tata Motors and Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) inaugurated a new passenger car manufacturing plant in Ranipet district, Tamil Nadu. The ₹9,000-crore facility is the first in India to manufacture JLR's luxury models. The plant will initially produce 250,000 vehicles over the next five to seven years and has the potential to create over 5,000 jobs. N. Chandrasekaran, chairman of Tata Sons & Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd., highlighted the significance of the facility for India's future-ready manufacturing. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin praised Tata Group's long history of contributing to nation-building and its partnership with Tamil Nadu.
