Tata Motors opens ₹9,000-crore JLR car manufacturing plant in Tamil Nadu’s Ranipet

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated a new ₹9,000-crore Tata Motors-Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) passenger car manufacturing plant in Ranipet on Monday, February 9, 2026. Mr. Stalin expressed confidence in the "Dravidian model of governance" attracting investments and highlighted the long-standing partnership between Tata Group and Tamil Nadu. N. Chandrasekaran, chairman of Tata Sons & Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd., stated that the facility marks a significant milestone in India's sustainable manufacturing leadership. The plant is expected to create over 5,000 jobs and foster skill enhancement within the state.
