Watch: Tarique Rahman’s daughter campaigns by rickshaw in Dhaka ahead of Feb 12 polls
Zaima Rahman, daughter of Tarique Rahman, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) chief, campaigned for her father in Dhaka-17 ahead of the February 12 general elections. She rode through neighborhoods on a rickshaw, distributing leaflets and speaking with residents about her father's candidacy. The BNP faces a challenge from Dr SM Khalekuzzaman of Jamaat-e-Islami. This election will be Bangladesh's first since the ouster of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in 2024. The vote also includes a constitutional referendum on the July Charter and is expected to reshape Bangladesh's political landscape.
