CPI(M) leader Brittas meets Uttarakhand gym owner Deepak, shopkeeper, after alleged right-wing harassment

CPI(M) MP John Brittas visited Deepak Kumar, a gym owner in Uttarakhand, who intervened to protect an elderly Muslim shopkeeper from alleged harassment by right-wing groups. The incident occurred on January 26th when Hindu organizations objected to the name of the shop, "Baba School Garments," owned by Mr. Ahmed, claiming it was linked to Hindu religious tradition. Mr. Brittas expressed solidarity with both Mr. Kumar and Mr. Ahmed, who have faced an informal economic boycott since the incident.
