DMK may contest for three seats in Karaikal
DMK in Puducherry is planning to contest in three Assembly constituencies in the Karaikal region, adding Karaikal North to its list. This decision has been made amid uncertainty surrounding seat-sharing negotiations between the DMK and the Congress in Tamil Nadu, which has stalled parallel discussions in the Union Territory. A senior DMK leader stated that if the alliance is finalized smoothly in Tamil Nadu, the same will follow here. The DMK currently holds six of the 30 Assembly seats in Puducherry while the Congress has two.
