SIR is a war on have-nots, says activist

Shiv Sundar, activist and writer, criticized the Election Commission of India's Systematic Intensive Revision (SIR) as a tool for disenfranchising voters. He argued that SIR is not about correcting electoral rolls but rather about excluding citizens, using it to create an "FIR" on 140 crore Indians. D.B. Gawani, retired professor, echoed Sundar's concerns, alleging that the BJP-led NDA government is undermining constitutional principles by aiming to reduce the number of eligible voters. He believes SIR will lead to further restrictions on civil liberties and erode democratic values.
