Call to evolve collective consciousness to resist violence against children

Kerala State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (KSCPCR) chairperson K.V. Manoj Kumar called on society to resist child violence during a three-day state-level conclave on child protection laws. He emphasized the importance of fostering healthy dialogue and moral values in children, while student representatives highlighted their desire for more child-centric discussions. Psychiatrists Arun B. Nair and Mohan Roy discussed the escalating mental health challenges faced by children and the need to adapt teaching methods to individual needs. The conclave reviewed existing child protection laws, including the POCSO Act, Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, and the Right to Education (RTE) Act.
