Edappadi K. Palaniswami, leader of the Opposition in Tamil Nadu and AIADMK general secretary, praised the Union Budget 2026-27 for its focus on fiscal management, economic growth, and reducing imports. He highlighted the budget's emphasis on research and manufacturing, particularly in sectors like artificial intelligence, digital manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, textiles, container manufacturing, and green energy. Palaniswami also noted the allocation of funds for MSMEs and the development of the textile sector, which he believes will benefit Tamil Nadu significantly.
