Despite Sreedharan’s intervention, Centre refused to give nod for high-speed rail, says CM
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan stated that despite proposing a high-speed rail project to the Union Railway Ministry, Kerala faced rejection. The state government then proposed a Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) as an alternative, aiming to provide faster rail travel for its citizens. The proposal was made by Vijayan and K.V. Thomas, Kerala's special representative in New Delhi, who met with the Union Railway Minister.
