Palaniswami rejects the offer of Panneerselvam to re-join AIADMK
Edappadi K. Palaniswami, general secretary of the AIADMK, rejected an offer from expelled party coordinator O. Panneerselvam to rejoin the party, stating that Mr. Panneerselvam was removed based on a unanimous resolution against him. Mr. Palaniswami also accused television channels of manipulating public perception about actor-politician Vijay and his political party, the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK). He claimed that TVK's actions led to the Karur stampede, where 41 people died. Palaniswami asserted that the AIADMK would form its own government after winning 210 seats in the upcoming Assembly elections and dismissed claims of a coalition government by some BJP leaders as mere party propaganda. He also criticized the DMK government for violating financial rules and accused them of being afraid of defeat.
