Stalin to lay foundation for Knowledge City project today

Chief Minister M.K. Stalin will lay the foundation stone for the Knowledge City in Tiruvallur district on Thursday, January 29th. The Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation (TIDCO), the project's nodal agency, plans to build classrooms, student housing, and commercial facilities on 870 acres of land. The first phase will also include stadiums and sports facilities. TIDCO has already received bookings for almost all plug-and-play facilities in the Knowledge Tower, which will be designed to enable foreign universities to operate out of. The state is set to sign Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with eight international universities during the India Global Education Summit 2026.
