Medaram gears up for Sammakka-Saralamma Maha Jatara, Pagididdaraju procession begins from Ponugondla

Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Danasari Anasuya Seethakka, along with Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, participated in the traditional Pagididdaraju procession, marking the beginning of the biennial Sammakka-Saralamma Maha Jatara in Medaram. The event is expected to draw approximately 3 crore devotees from across India, and preparations have been made by the Telangana police for crowd management using AI-based systems and a geo-tag-based missing persons tracking system modeled after the Sabarimala system. The Jatara will feature newly renovated shrine complexes costing ₹101 crore, upgraded infrastructure, and expanded parking facilities to accommodate the expected influx of pilgrims.
