Brinda Karat calls on women to drive away BJP-RSS, protect Constitution
Brinda Karat, a senior CPI(M) leader and founding member of the AIDWA, urged women's organizations to intensify their fight against the BJP-RSS combine, calling it the biggest threat to the country, particularly to women. She criticized the government's VB-GRAM G Act, 2025, and called for a nationwide movement to restore MGNREGA, emphasizing its role in providing livelihood security to rural poor, especially women. Ms. Karat also accused the BJP and RSS of never accepting the Indian Constitution and of aiming to impose the Manusmriti, which she said institutionalizes discrimination against women. The four-day conference brought together around 850 delegates and observers from 26 states.
